HATEBREED Bassist Talks Politics

August 8, 2008

HATEBREED bassist Chris Beattie has a politically fuelled entry on his running blog for HardTimes.ca. It reads as follows:

"I usually try to steer very clear of this subject, but with the elections coming up in November and the United States (and the rest of the world for that matter) up to its knees in bullshit, I figured Id give it a whirl.

"I'm completely baffled at the amount of people who consider themselves intelligent but yet hide behind some 'party' as their means to defend their side of an arguement. It doesn't matter if you are a Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, whatever you want to fucking call yourself, the important thing is you start listening with your ears and seeing things with your own two eyes!! The thing I'm trying to get at here is come November and it's time to vote, don't be a fucking idiot and just vote for a Republican or Democrat just because you're 'loyal' to the party. That's the dumbest way of thinking that I've encountered. There is not going to be a 'quick fix' to our country's issues but we as a NATION must stand up and change things and not rely on those in power to do their jobs! If something isn't working and hasn't been working you have to change it and that's where we are at right now. Don't rely on turning on CNN to get informed. These and many other 'informative' channels are run by the same institutions that control our country and they definitely try to sway you to believe what they want you to. Stop letting others decide for you and grow some balls!

"For the record, I support every single one of our troops and love America. The people running America, well, they're a little shady."
